Wednesday October 3rd was a very exciting and eventful day for the Retail Department at Mansfield Oil Company. Thirteen customers were on campus to attend a Retail Management Educational Workshop. The workshop was conducted by T&S Management Services who presented a full day of C-Store Management 101 that included such topics as merchandising, customer service, retail store accounting, cash controls, business plans and employee recruiting, all which lead to further discussion that was beneficial to all in attendance. Mansfield Oil is very focused on supporting their retail customers. We feel it’s our responsibility to give our retailer the extra knowledge to compete in our highly competitive retail industry. The independent petroleum retailer can survive among the land of the giants with the proper tools and if they better understand the retail convenience business. Creating “the edge” which separates you from your competition is one key to success. Another way is to be better educate our retail partner both in operational practices and marketing their businesses to the retail convenience consumer. The main goal through these educational workshops will to be better EDUCATE the Mansfield Oil Customer to understand our industry and provide customer benchmarking to evaluate their businesses from within and from a competitive perspective.
