Mansfield Annual Golf Classic

Mansfield will once again host the annual Mansfield Golf Classic benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association at Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee. Last year’s event marked the 25th anniversary of Mansfield’s support for MDA and resulted in more than $350,000 raised for the fight against neuromuscular disease. The 2012 event will take place on June 5th and 6th at The Ritz Carlton Lodge Lake Oconee where golfers will enjoy four courses designed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio. UPS will once again sponsor a special VIP dinner and auction prior to the golf outing.

Mansfield CEO Michael Mansfield said, “We look forward to returning to Reynolds Plantation for our 26th annual Mansfield Golf Classic. Our work with MDA is a cornerstone of our corporate identity and this event has helped Mansfield contribute nearly $3 million to Jerry’s Kids over the past 26 years. By partnering with our energy industry stakeholders, we support the work of doctors and researchers who are charged with the responsibility of finding cures for over 40 neuromuscular diseases that affect more than one million Americans.”

Mansfield’s work with MDA was honored at the 2011 Platts Global Energy Awards in December as a finalist in the Community Development Program of the Year category. The annual Golf Classic is the largest MDA golf outing in North America and hosted more than 340 golfers in 2011.
