Inventory Management - Marinas
A local marina had invested $12,000 on an ATG a couple of years ago, but it never seemed to work properly. Mansfield's salesman and director of environmental compliance had stopped by the location to talk to the owner of the facility, because he was getting ready to install a new tank.
Since Mansfield was in the area, we went to see the future location of the new tank. While at the site, we walked out on the dock and talked to one of the employees, who told us that he was tired of sticking the tanks every day to see how much fuel they had. The marina had spent good money to put in the system that was supposed to perform this function.
Mansfield's director of environmental compliance performed diagnostics on the ATG system. He determined that while the console had power, no ancillary equipment, like modules or probes, had been installed or programmed to make the ATG operational. More detailed investigation brought to light that the contractor had installed the system that way. Furthermore, that same contractor had just been awarded the contract to install this marina's new tank system.
Once the customer understood everything that had happened, they were able to have a complete ATG system installed with their new tank. Now, they are only sticking their tanks once a month and conducting compliance through Mansfield's tank monitoring services.
